VISIT SAN SEBASTIAN TEMPLE
Head north from the old town of Nochistlan, as a bizarre building of mixed styles awaits you here.
ADMIRE THE OLD FACADE
The oldest part of San Sebastian Temple dates from 1743 and was born as a chapel. Admire its bright yellow facade where a beautiful wooden door framed with quarry stone moldings stands out. On its left, a beautiful bell tower watches over the square.
KNOW THE REMODELINGS OF THE TEMPLE
At the end of the century, the patron saint who lives here, affectionately called El Güerito de Nochistlan, received so many visitors that the chapel had to grow. Admire the new structure whose thin tower presumes, without modesty, to be younger than its sister tower.
ATTEND THE PATRONIAL FESTIVITIES
If you are in Nochistlan in early January, do not miss out on the famous empinoladas. Enjoy the traditional feasts celebrated in honor to Güerito, where joyful papiaqui music floods the air mixing with the delicious aroma of varied regional dishes.
