TRAVEL TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RUINS OF PALENQUE
Let the Mayan architecture come to life before your eyes through the myths, rites, rituals and beliefs of the ancient settlers who inhabited the area that is bound with lush vegetation and home to different types of colorful birds, howler monkeys, jaguars, turtles, and many other species of animals that formerly personified the spirits and deities of the Lacandon Jungle.
Feel like an archaeologist visiting the Temple of Inscriptions, the Grand Palace, Temple XI, and the temples of the Foliated Cross, the Sun and the Count. When you get to the ball court, be sure to ask your guide about the Mayan creation myth and the twins, Hunahpú and Ixbalanqué, who defied the gods of Xibalba, and imagine the clamor and magic that are imbued in those same, timeless stones in front of your eyes.
