For its vast cultural heritage, the city of Xalapa has been stated by the Mexican government as a Historic and Artistic Monuments Zone since 1990.
Get away from the early hours of the morning and have a delicious breakfast of eggs cooked with beans and cheese and accompanied by a hot coffee.

After breakfast, visit the most representative buildings of the Xalapa Historic Center which show their architectural beauties preserved as history jewels. A must see is the Museum of Anthropology. With a large collection of objects, it is considered the second most important in Mexico; admire the pre-Hispanic vestiges; feel the past encapsulated in this museographic jewel.

If you are passionate about museums and historic monuments, visit the UV Radio Auditorium, the Agora of the City, the Rafael Solana Auditorium, and the Open Forum of the Agora. If it is a colonial museum, take a tour of the Casa de Xalapa Museum or the San Rafael Guízar y Valencia Museum. If you love modern things, get to know the Diego Rivera Pinacoteca or the Auditorium of the Contemporary Art Gallery, and finally take a souvenir for your loved ones in the Gallery of Handicrafts where you will find the best of the popular art of the place.

In the afternoon enjoy a mestizo dish; feel the Spanish heritage melt with the pre-Hispanic cuisine to wake up your palate. Ask for the traditional apple-based coffee foam dessert. Sit to contemplate the atmosphere in one of the colorful parks or walk along the streets full of art, university life and the smell of coffee in a cosmopolitan city, live Xalapa.
